I really don't care one way or the other whether Bonds took steroids or performance enhancing drugs or whether is was freakin Creatine. Whether you like him or not he is one of the greatest baseball players to ever play the game and WILL be a Hall of Famer. Curt Schilling just needs to shut his freakin piehole and do his job.

I agree that Bonds is one of the greatest of all time no matter what, but his numbers the past 7 years have been greatly inflated due to steriods IMO. He is/would have been a hall of famer on the first ballet, although if roids are ever proven, then he may not be.

IF they ever prove it then by all means take all his accolades away, but, until then noone can do a thing about it. I hope he breaks it in SF because if he doesn't then there might be a riot and he will probably get a bunch of stuff thrown at him and possibly maniacs coming out of the stands like on Aaron except they wont be patting him on the back.

I was watching Buster Olney the other night on espn town meeting or whatever its called and he mentioned that he thought that there were too many questions that could never be answered for him to judge Bonds or any other player from this era so he would vote for the best players from the era such as Bonds, Sosa, McGwire, etc. He pretty much made it a point that(for example) guys like Cal Ripken, Tony Gwynn, Kirby Puckett, etc could have been users and theres really no way to seperate who did what/how much it affected the performance/etc. He also said that we know through the grapvine that pitchers juiced heavily and he feels like there was an even playing field in most cases. Id have to agree with him because even if you prove that Bonds did take steroids, where do you even go from there? Many questions will never be answered because everyone has assumed that he did take steroids and nothing has really come from it. We have about as much knowledge today as we did 4 years ago about this fiasco. I think we all know that he likely did use steroids, but I still have alot of respect for the amount of hard work he put into doing what he did. He was already the best player in the game, but Im pretty certain his training regiment was also unlike any other out there either. Then there are those fans that were asked what they thought when interviewed and they said, you guys at espn are putting too much into this, we just wanna be entertained. Thats my sentiments exactly. Records in general to me are sorta tired and overrated. Its been fun to watch Bonds over the years play baseball, I could leave it at that even if he never hits another homerun.

Im not really sure you can take his records away without striking an asterisk up for the whole era and even then, its impossible to convince yourself that it didnt happen. The record books say no but I believe they did.
